During a sleep state, for all other people looking at you, you might be sleeping. But if you are in the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) stage of sleep, there can be many things happening in your mind. You might be in a situation where everything is under your control, but suddenly something appears out of nowhere, and you find yourself dead. The question here is that if you die in your lucid dream, can you also die in real life?

The answer to this question is a little hard to find due to specific reasons discussed later in this article. But the research and scientific facts say that it is impossible to die in real life if you die in a lucid dream. People often die while they are sleeping; however, there are some other reasons for that. We will look into details to understand why or why not lucid dreaming death can be a natural life death.

How Can You Die in Real Life, if You Die in a Lucid Dream?

Around 20 to 30 years ago, when the internet was not spread around the world, people could not validate the facts. There were rumours about death during sleep, such as deadly dreams. These rumours were more famous because people were unable to do a fact check.

A possible reason for death in sleep can be cardiac arrest due to some emotional dreams. Studies show that when we are dreaming, our heartbeat can increase or decrease according to our goals. For instance, we get frightened shocked, due to which heart rate increases to a level when people can experience cardiac arrest and die.

So, it can be concluded that the reason was fear and then cardiac arrest for the death and not the death in a dream.

Why Can’t You Die in Real Life if You Die in a Lucid Dream?

Now, let’s look at some other reasons to understand why can’t you die in real life if you die in a lucid dream?

Lucid Dreaming is an Alternate World

Lucid Dreamworld is an alternative to real-life where you can do anything but this is not the real world. Although you can control things whatever happens in the LD world, that all is a dream and not happening with your physical body. That means whenever you wake up after a death in a dream, you will have some emotions for some time, but you will wake up alive.

How Would You Know?

If you say that a person was dead because he died in his lucid dream, how would you know that? Because any dream can be described by the dreamer only, and if they die, then how and who else can predict it?

Logically, it can be concluded that there is no fact behind this concept of deadly dreams, and also, you can’t die in your real life if you experience a death in a lucid dream.
