Do you feel that you have a strong imagination and can imagine something strange that has never happened in your life? For example, some people think to

  • Be decisive and achieve everything
  • Fly like birds
  • Disappear and explore the world
  • Stop people and time and so on.

All these fantasies are linked with your conscious and subconscious mind.

You can experience any of your imagination fantasy in an alternate world called dreams. Some effort and learning can enable you to control them also. Dreams communicate your subconscious mind with the conscious mind. Hence, it is possible to imagine and fulfil your imagination in lucid dreams.

Our subconscious mind plays an influential role in lucid dreaming; let's understand it deeply.

Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind is a data bank of everything, which is not present in your conscious mind. It stores all your skills, memories, and beliefs. Everything seen by you is also saved in it. It is also a guiding system. It continuously monitors all the information coming from senses for opportunities and dangers. It also communicates all the information to the conscious mind.

The primary function of the subconscious mind is to store and retrieve data when needed. The subconscious mind is subjective. It doesn't think and explain independently but only obeys the command received from the conscious mind. If an older person remembers the events fifty years before, it means that his unconscious memory is almost perfect.

Relation Between Subconscious Mind and Lucid Dreaming

The main question here is: How is lucid dreaming related to the subconscious? Scientific studies and experts are still unable to find the reasons for dreaming and its motives. But most of the researchers believe that dreams are connected with the subconscious mind that communicates with the conscious mind. Although our subconscious mind does not speak the same language as our conscious mind can; and mostly same is true for the content of your lucid dreams. There are numerous dream dictionaries in which symbols are used to interpret dreams.

When a person is lucid dreaming, they are proficient to directly talk to their subconscious mind and transform negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Hence, lucid dreaming is used to treat nightmares and other mental health issues.

Can You Train Your Subconscious through Lucid Dreams?

Your subconscious mind has all the data starting from your childhood, and it helps your conscious mind apply it. Lucid dreams are thought of as an entrance to this data bank, which means you can interact with your subconscious mind that is almost impossible during awakening life. Can this interaction also train your mind for real life?

You can get an answer to the above question through understanding an example. When you are trying to focus on mastering a skill during a lucid dream, you are already trying to update your data in your subconscious mind. Your enhanced skills in awakening life are proof that you have trained your subconscious mind through lucid dream training.

The subconscious mind can be explained as remembrances, theories, uncertainties, and real-life scenarios, such as how you react in a particular situation? Whereas lucid dreams deal with the whole lot, either from our real-life or hidden from our conscious mind and belongs to our subconscious mind.
