WBTB, WILD, MILD, FILD, RC, and many others are the ways to get into the world of fantastic lucid dreaming experiences (LD). If you are an enthusiast who has already established an interest in LD, these abbreviations are not new for you. However, for newbies, these terms are different techniques to induce LD.

Internet and social media are flooded with such techniques, and anyone may easily get lost to find the one best suited for you. It would help if you remembered that everyone is a different individual, and a method that works for someone might not work for you. Also, practising a single technique might not speed up the induction process, and you need their combination to achieve quick results.

Combination of Reliable Methods for Inducing Lucid Dreams

As mentioned above, lucid dreaming cannot be achieved through a single induction technique. You can follow this sequence:

Bedtime routine

Bedtime routine is very important and provides a base for the rest of the methods. It includes:

  • No screen time/ food/ alcohol at least 2 hours before bedtime

  • Taking a warm bath

  • Meditation

  • Setting bedroom environment

Reality Checks (RC)

You should practice 2 to 3 reality checks throughout your day, and it should be too frequent that you will unconsciously perform it in your lucid dream. RC help you to realize that you are in a dream.

Mnemonics Induced Lucid Dream (MILD)

It’s a great way to train your brain; you have to revise a specific lucid dreaming related verse before you sleep. For example, it can be “Today, I will lucid dream” or “I will be conscious and control my dream”.

Wake Back To Bed (WBTB)

You complete your bedtime routine, do the reality checks, and read a verse before sleeping. You need to set an alarm of 4 to 6 hours after sleep; get up when the alarm rings, stay active for 30 minutes to 1 hour and sleep again while repeating the same verse (MILD).

Dream Diary

Recalling your dreams is crucial to induce LD; you can do it by writing a dream diary. This diary should be placed near your bed and in the same position every day. When you wake up from your dream, please stay in the same position for a few minutes, recall your dream as much as possible and then write it down in your dream diary. Draw symbols, characters, or anything that are unusual.

Supplements

A variety of herbs and supplements are considered good for dreaming or dream recall. You can add a moderate amount of anyone in your diet, but do complete research about them.

Whenever you try to learn new things, sometimes results are instant and mostly repeated efforts are required to acquire results, and it’s true for LD as well. But the key is consistency and dedication; these two can land you in your world of LD.
